fter a reported $300 million investment from private equity firm CVC, Volleyball World are reimagining their digital offering with the help of Deltatre’s FORGE platform.

The sport’s new commercial entity, Volleyball World, was launched in March after a deal was struck between CVC and Volleyball’s international governing body FIVB.

Volleyball World, which overseas major FIVB competitions such as the World Championships, Olympic Qualifiers and the Volleyball Nations League, will use “the world’s first sport-focused publishing platform” FORGE to redevelop the website and app.

According to a press release from Volleyball World, the new website and app will use Deltatre’s market leading fan engagement features and will offer content in seven different languages to allow editorial teams to deliver “the right content at the right time via the right channel to volleyball fans in every market.”

The overhaul comes as part of Volleyball World’s fan-centric strategy which aims to reach fans directly to better understand their tastes and habits.

Volleyball World report they are “working toward the creation of an integrated system of services and products for the entire Volleyball family, to offer the very best possible experience to fans around the world whether [they] play, watch or attend volleyball.”

Speaking on the digital redevelopment, Volleyball World head of digital, Motasem El Bawab, said it is only the beginning of the company’s fan-engagement plans.

“With Deltatre’s FORGE framework in place, we are just getting started as we are rolling out more digital products that will expand our entire ecosystem and engage even more fans,” El Bawab said.

“Deltatre was committed to implementing world-leading technology in such short time frame to super change our fan experience, in addition to thinking ahead to the evolution of our roadmap,” he said.
