Chase Bank strikes four-year partnerships with UK football governing bodies

Chase, the US banking giant with an online retail banking service in the UK, has simultaneously announced four new multi-year partnerships with the football governing bodies of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Under these agreements, Chase’s online UK operation will serve as the official banking partner of all four national governing bodies in the UK, extending its support to each nation’s men’s, women’s, youth and para-football national teams.

Fans will soon notice Chase branding adorning the training gear worn by players across all national teams. Chase will join forces with each of the four football associations on various social projects aimed at empowering low-income individuals by facilitating their access to football coaching qualifications.

Fan experiences surrounding matches and training grounds will also be brought to life through Chase’s activation alongside the four football associations, enhancing the overall engagement and excitement for supporters.

The chief executives of each football association expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its potential to drive positive change and development within their respective football communities.

Mark Bullingham, head of England’s FA, stated, “Our new partnership with Chase is an exciting opportunity that will help us to develop the next generation of coaching talent across all levels of English football.”

Irish FA chief Patrick Nelson added, “This partnership will provide added value to different parts of our operation, which is really exciting. We know that our senior teams attract significant attention, and rightly so. But we are committed to enhancing the skillset of individuals right across our football family and the bursary for aspiring coaches that comes as part of our partnership with Chase, an organisation that shares our vision and values here at the Irish FA, will really help us continue to do that.”

Chase’s expansion into soccer sponsorship extends beyond the UK, as the banking giant recently announced its title sponsorship of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami’s home stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Renamed as Chase Stadium, the venue boasts 21,500 seats and will gain significant media exposure – particularly with Argentinian football icon Lionel Messi playing for the team.

The partnership includes prominent signage branding both inside and outside the stadium, along with the introduction of the J.P. Morgan Suite Level and VIP Entrance.

While this marks Chase’s first stadium naming rights deal, the banking giant has a history of involvement in football sponsorship, having previously partnered with MLS side Columbus Crew. Chase maintains longstanding commercial ties in basketball through its partnership with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and its naming rights deal with Golden State Warriors’ Chase Centre.

Meanwhile, Chase’s UK chief marketing officer Deboarh Keay also commented on the new partnership with the UK football governing bodies.

“Football has the unique ability to drive positive societal change, bringing together millions of people across every corner of the UK,” Keay said.

“We’re excited to be working with the Home Nations to use the power of football to support individuals and communities across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

“We recognise there are barriers that can make obtaining coaching qualifications difficult for many. By supporting individuals with access to the right resources and tools they need to succeed, we can help people develop key life skills on and off the pitch that will have a positive impact on their lives.”
