ber Eats’ Australian Open campaign has been revealed, with creator of critically acclaimed film Borat and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen playing a Rogue Umpire in matches involving Australia’s Nick Kyrgios and Ash Barty.
The campaign, named “Tonight I’ll Be Eating For Love”, centres around Cohen interfering with play in order to keep the scoreboard to love.
Uber Eats will post a promotional code on their Instagram page to unlock free menu items at selected restaurant partners when the score is love during this year’s Open.
Speaking to AdNews, Special Group Australia partner and COO, Julian Schreiber, said this was a way to look to the future for the brand.
“This is our third Australian Open campaign for Uber Eats, so we wanted to do something new, while still packing a punch for the brand,” Schreiber said.
“We realised Uber Eats could again own specific moments in the tennis, this time when the score is love,” he said.
The campaign will be the largest Uber Eats have done in their advertising history with the Open, with Cohen’s clips running across Channel 9, Gem, Tennis Australia channels, and Uber Eat’s channels.
