Manchester City Partner With Cybersecurity Expert Acronis

Highlighting the imperative need for IT systems in league football teams, Manchester City renews its official partnership with cybersecurity mogul Acronis.

As part of the deal, Ingram Micro has become City’s official #TeamUp partner.

Acronis, founded in 2003, utilising AI-based protection and blockchain-based authentication is set to provide expansive protection for Manchester City across physical, virtual, cloud and mobile workload environments.

Vice president Europe, Acronis, Roman McCurtin spoke on the renewed partnership.

“Acronis will help Manchester City significantly optimize its data management with support and protection from ransomware contributing to efficient business operations.”

“In the fast-paced world of sports today, we are thrilled to welcome Ingram Micro to the partnership this year and know each party will bring intensity to the partnership on and off the field.”

Offering cyber protection via technologies such as hybrid cloud storage, anti-ransomware and disaster recovery, Acronis, offers its services to over 150 countries and 750,000 businesses worldwide.

Chief technology officer, city football group, Greg Swimer highlighted the significance of the continued partnership.

“Manchester City has an ever increasing amount of data that helps drive our critical operations, both on the pitch and off it.”

“This data needs protecting, and we have been delighted to work with Acronis to help us to do so since 2018.”

The announcement comes as Alison Brittain is appointed as the first female chairwoman in Premier League history
