French car manufacturer, Renault, has become a premium partner of the French Open in a new five-year partnership with The Roland Garros tennis Grand Slam.

According to French media, the deal is worth between €5 million (AUD$7.45 million) and €7 million (AUD$10.4 million) per year.

The partnership will see Renault logo branding on the nets of Roland Garros’ five main courts throughout the 2021 tournament, starting on 22nd May and running until 5th June.

At this year’s French Open, Renault will also display its electric and hybrid range, promoting the drive to become fully electric in Europe by 2030.

French Tennis Federation (FFT) president, Gilles Moretton, said: “We are thrilled with this premium partnership, which was an obvious step for two French brands with a strong international dimension.”

“It’s an ambitious partnership and we’re both committed to shaking things up and achieving our sustainable mobility goals in the very near future.

“Renault is also planning to extend the partnership beyond Roland Garros, which gives us great cause for satisfaction,” said Moretton.
