Except for the 283 Australian women who competed at Sydney 2000, RIO group was the biggest in Olympic history. The last Summer Olympics held in Australia was also the cheapest in decades.

While the final cost of the Sydney games was just under $7 billion, the costs more than doubled for Athens and topped a massive $45 billion for Beijing before hovering around the $20 billion mark for the past two games. South-East Queensland bidding committee reckons they can now deliver the games for less than a quarter of this cost.

First there was the announcement of a billion-dollar revamp of Brisbane’s iconic Gabba stadium, the Prime Minister has guaranteed the Federal Government will cover half the cost for the 2032 Olympic Games, should Brisbane be confirmed as the host.

The 2032 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXV Olympiad, is a forthcoming international multi-sport event expected to benefit big time.

Scheduled to be selected and announced by the International Olympic Committee on 20–21 July 2021, the eve of the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo  which has now been been awarded to Brisbane as the host city for 2032.
