Motorsport Australia Announces Appointment of New Sporting and Technical Director

This week, Motorsport Australia announced that Lisa Crampton has been appointed as Sporting & Technical Director, a new position that will oversee several critical aspects of motorsport management. Her responsibilities will include managing officials, stewarding, safety protocols, and motorsport regulations, among other significant areas.

Crampton’s career in motorsport is extensive and distinguished. She has served in senior leadership capacities, such as the Sporting Director for the 2024 Dakar Rally champions, Q Motorsport, and the Head of Development and Team Manager for X-raid GmbH and BMW Motorsport. Additionally, she has operated a specialist motorsport consultancy business, which focuses on event management, race control, and commercial programs.

Her expertise extends to race control where she has served as the Race Director for the FIA eTouring Car World Cup and spent six years as Assistant Race Director for the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Crampton is scheduled to start her position in July at the Motorsport Australia headquarters in Melbourne, where she aims to leverage her global experience to elevate the standards and safety of Australian motorsport.
