ollingwood has announced an expansion of an apparel partnership with Nike to cover the club’s entire on-field and off-field apparel for all teams and programs.

The deal follows an initial partnership between the club’s Super Netball side as an apparel partner in 2020 and also Nike being the club’s official footwear and compression partner since 2017.

Nike will now produce all on-field and off-field apparel for the Collingwood netball, AFL, VFL, VFLW, and wheelchair football teams, and will remain the official footwear and compression partner of the AFLW side.

Nike Pacific vice president and general manager, Ashley Reade, said: “Nike and Collingwood both have a strong commitment to sport, and we envisage this partnership can help empower more women and the next generation of athletes to push the boundaries of sport.”

Collingwood CEO, Mark Anderson, said the long-term partnership will help create a difference in the communities in which Collingwood and Nike operate.

“Over the last few years, we have had the opportunity to grow and learn with Nike in their footwear and compression support of the club,” Anderson said.

“Through that time, we realised we share many of the same aspirations in terms of high performance, commitment to both men’s and women’s sport and how we can use the power of our organisations to create a difference in the communities in which we operate.

“That made the progression to today’s announcement a natural one for all of us at Collingwood and we thank Ash Reade and his team for their support.

“Our focus is to always partner with world-leading brands, ones that are global best practice to ensure we remain innovative and leading the way for our teams and programs.

“Our partnership with Nike provides a perfect example of this principle in action,” he said.

Collingwood president, Eddie McGuire, also said: “We spoke with Nike about not only seeking an apparel partner; we were seeking a whole-of-club partner with whom we share a common future vision.”

“Today, that vision is becoming a reality,” McGuire said.

As part of the partnership announcement, Collingwood unveiled a new guernsey at their first training session for 2021, using a fabric made with at least 90% recycled polyester.
