he National Rugby League (NRL) Appeals Committee have formally cancelled player agent, Isaac Moses’ accreditation, citing the breach as one of “great seriousness.”

Moses was found to have breached his obligations as an agent in 2017 when he assisted former client, Tim Mannah, in giving false evidence intended to mislead an investigation into the Parramatta Eels.

This news will now leave many NRL players and coaches in limbo, With players who were managed by Moses now able to terminate their contracts, picking up a 6% management fee, which to some players could be in excess of $100,000.

Players also have the option to choose to change agents within Moses’ Cove Agency company.

Moses will continue to receive a trailing commission on deals he has already brokered.

According to the Herald, it will be another two to three years before the accredited agents scheme considers allowing him back in the sport, despite Moses reportedly indicating to players that he would be back in 12 months.

The NRL is expected to hand out harsh penalties to anyone within the game who has correspondence with Moses, whilst Rugby League Central is set to end the practice of allowing agents to have both players and coaches on their books due to potential conflicts that could occur.

Moses was given a six-month ban over his actions during the Melbourne Storm salary-cap scandal last decade.In a statement, the NRL advised players represented by Moses to contact the Rugby League Players Association for information about what this means for them if they have any questions.
