Sydney FC have signed an official club partnership with Italian domestic appliance manufacturer, Smeg.

The Sky Blues and Smeg will launch a new social media series featuring their products in the coming months, along with a large presence at home fixtures.

Sydney FC CEO, Danny Townsend, said he is looking forward to the future of this partnership.

“Smeg and Sydney FC both cherish a rich family history and I’m delighted that we’re able to partner together for the future of our game,” Townsend said.

“I’m looking forward to celebrating more on field success with Smeg, whilst also continuing to engage with our members, usher in our centre of excellence and new stadium and celebrate the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

“I’d like to welcome Smeg to Sydney FC as we look forward to more success in season 2020/21 and beyond,” he said.

Meanwhile, Western United have announced food relief organisation, Foodbank Victoria, as their charity partner in time for their Good Friday eve fixture against Melbourne City.

As part of the agreement, every Untied player will wear Foodbank branded jerseys, with all of the kits to be auctioned post-match and proceeds going to Foodbank Victoria.

United CEO, Chris Pehlivanis, said the deepened relationship between the two parties was a major positive.

“The community connection Foodbank Victoria have to families in Melbourne and Victoria’s west is a strong one and that value aligns perfectly with us as a football club,” Pehlivanis said.

“Western United are proud to activate our partnership with this exciting charity round, and I call on our supporters to get down to the match against Melbourne City at AAMI Park to support not only our team on the pitch but Foodbank Victoria,” he said.

Elsewhere, and Macarthur FC have partnered with Reclaim the Game to raise awareness of the harm gambling can cause.

The club will not be accepting any sports betting sponsorships, with the club’s main aim behind the agreement being to create a more family-friendly sporting experience during matchdays.
