Luckin Coffee signs on as Australian Open partner in China and Southeast Asia

Tennis Australia has partnered with Luckin Coffee, the prominent Chinese coffee house chain, as the official coffee partner for the Australian Open in China and Southeast Asia.

The collaboration will see Luckin Coffee gaining exposure through virtual signage at the AO, strengthening brand presence in key markets.

Luckin Coffee plans to introduce a co-branded product named AO-Luckin Coffee in China and Singapore, coupled with the distribution of complimentary items during the Australian Open in 2024. This move aligns with Tennis Australia’s broader vision to expand the Australian Open’s footprint in the rapidly growing tennis markets of China and Asia.

“We’re delighted to partner with Luckin Coffee – one of Asia’s dominant and fastest growing coffee retailers,” said Cedric Cornelis, Chief Commercial Officer at Tennis Australia.

“Partnering with Luckin is an important and exciting next step in executing our strategy to expand the Australian Open’s presence in China and Asia more broadly, where tennis continues to grow rapidly in popularity.

“Both Luckin Coffee and the Australian Open embrace premium playfulness in our brands, making us a great fit.”

With an extensive network of over 13,000 locations across more than 300 Chinese cities, Luckin Coffee is a large competitor in the coffee retail space, allowing Tennis Australia to reach maximum exposure.

“The sport of tennis is associated with a healthy lifestyle, and represents elegance and expertise, which is well aligned with the brand of Luckin Coffee,” added Yang Fei, co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Luckin Coffee.

“As one of the largest coffee chain brands in China, the partnership between Luckin Coffee and the Australian Open will bring great synergy as both are leading brands representing healthy, high-quality lifestyles, and will help to promote our coffee to the world.”
