The Collingwood Football Club is set to celebrate inclusion and diversity by opening the gates to fans for free during the 2025 AFLW Pride Round clash against Richmond at Victoria Park on Sunday, October 19, at 3:05 pm.
This year marks the sixth AFLW Pride Round, with matches held nationwide across Rounds 9 and 10 of the competition.
The initiative celebrates and supports the LGBTQIA+ community, reinforcing the AFLW’s commitment to creating a sport that is inclusive, welcoming, and representative of all people.
Expressing excitement for the upcoming celebration, and emphasising the club’s dedication to making football a safe and inclusive space for everyone, Collingwood CEO, Craig Kelly, said: “No matter what your background, we want everyone to feel welcomed and included when attending the footy.
“We’re offering free entry, with so many activities on offer, as well as a great game of footy – there will be something for everyone,” Kelly said.
Echoing Kelly’s message, highlighting the broader importance of Pride Round, executive general manager of Women’s Football, Jess Burger, added: “Initiatives like Pride Round celebrate everyone and ensure no matter who you are, you feel safe and represented coming to the football. Diversity strengthens our game.”
Collingwood’s Round 10 matchup against the Tigers will feature a vibrant festival atmosphere at Victoria Park. Fans can enjoy interactive activities including face painting, glitter bars, chalk art, and photobooths, alongside performances and music from the Pride Patrol Truck.
The Magpies will proudly wear their 2025 AFLW Pride Guernsey, featuring a bright gradient rainbow centred between the club’s iconic black and white stripes. The design symbolises the club’s “Side by Side” ethos—celebrating unity, equality, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The event, supported by match day partner AIA Vitality, offers free tickets redeemable through Ticketmaster, ensuring accessibility for all fans. Additionally, Pride in Sport, a key partner in the initiative, will host educational activations and provide resources to promote inclusion and awareness.
