Tasmania JackJumpers and Tasmania Jewels Secure Firmus as Principal Community Partner

The Tasmania JackJumpers and Tasmania Jewels have welcomed technology and infrastructure company Firmus as their new Principal Community Partner.

The alliance is designed to boost grassroots basketball development across Tasmania, expanding regional community outreach, delivering equipment upgrades to local clubs, and funding free ticket access for youth supporters attending Jewels fixtures.

By embedding Firmus into their foundational community framework, both basketball organisations aim to amplify regional engagement outside major metropolitan hubs, targeting remote and regional areas including the West and East Coasts, King and Flinders Islands, the Peninsula, and the Huon Valley.

Commenting on the profound community atmosphere driving the collaboration, JackJumpers and Jewels CEO, Trent Jacobs, said: “As a club, we’ve had some incredible on court success, but it’s the support of Tasmanians that we’re most proud of.”

“Firmus shares our commitment to investing in Tasmanians, and together we will increase the positive impact of sport on our communities with this partnership.

“Every year our club engages with thousands of kids and now we can boost this even more, especially with more visits our regions. This means we can spend more time in regional areas like the West and East Coasts, King and Flinders Islands, the Peninsula and Huon Valley, plus so much more.

“We will also invest in equipment to help more Tassie kids enjoy basketball and give more young fans the chance to get to a game with kids-go-free tickets to Jewels games,” he said.

Firmus chief operating officer, Cameron Hanson, highlighted the personal alignment and commercial intent behind the long-term investment.

“I grew up watching Tasmanian sport bring people together, and few teams do that better than the JackJumpers and Jewels.”

“Getting more kids through the door for free, and more gear in their hands so they can actually play the game matters to us, it’s exactly the kind of impact we want to have.

“This club already does so much for the community, and we want to help them do more of it by investing in these programs long term,” Cameron said.
