Port Adelaide’s Joins “WE’RE EQUAL” Initiative

Port Adelaide Football Club has officially joined the South Australian Government’s “WE’RE EQUAL” initiative, showing their commitment to promote equality within the community.

This program aims to spotlight businesses and organisations that prioritise inclusivity, emphasising South Australia’s vision of an open society that values diversity and difference.

The club has established robust workplace policies that uphold a zero-tolerance stance on discrimination and disrespectful behaviour.

Beyond these, Port Adelaide has a commendable history of implementing educational initiatives aimed particularly at supporting underrepresented communities.

Central to this mission is the club’s charitable arm, Power Community Limited (PCL), which aligns closely with the principles of the WE’RE EQUAL initiative. PCL runs evidence-based programs across four key areas: First Nations, Multicultural, Australian Defence Force (ADF), and the prevention of gender-based violence.

Through these programs, PCL leverages the influence of sport, the Port Adelaide brand, and the positive example set by its athletes to create opportunities for children, young people, and ADF Veterans.

These initiatives are designed to build essential skills, resilience, and social connections, empowering participants to shape their futures and foster a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.

The compatibility between Port Adelaide’s workplace commitments and its community engagement efforts with the WE’RE EQUAL initiative creates a strong foundation for the club to support the South Australian Government’s progressive agenda.
