The Foxtel Group’s sports streaming platform Kayo Sports has expanded its partnership with McDonald’s Australia, introducing a landmark loyalty integration that allows MyMacca’s Rewards members to redeem points for live sports access.
Launched to coincide with the peak of the domestic football finals and the Australian men’s cricket team’s tour of South Africa, the campaign enables new and returning Kayo customers to unlock one month of Kayo Sports Premium for 7,000 reward points. The offering provides members with access to more than fifty sports live and on-demand, incorporating high-definition 4K coverage across major sporting codes including AFL, NRL, Formula 1, Supercars, cricket, and golf.
The collaboration represents an evolution of the existing commercial alliance between the two major consumer brands, following the successful introduction of a BINGE entertainment rewards campaign in July. The initiative is designed to capture high-value audiences during the busiest calendar windows of the Australian sports year, driving digital acquisition and boosting subscriber retention for the streaming platform.
Highlighting the timing of the rollout amid heightened seasonal engagement, executive director – content & commercial partnerships of Foxtel Group, Stephanie Quinn, said: “The inclusion of Kayo Sports marks an exciting evolution in our partnership with McDonald’s, extending it into the live sport Australians are passionate about, alongside the very best in entertainment on BINGE.”
“With finals fever building, there’s no better time for MyMacca’s Rewards members to get amongst the action on Kayo Sports.
“This partnership gives customers unrivalled access to Kayo Sports’ more than 50 sports, live and on demand, alongside 4K coverage, creating a new way to be there for the biggest moments across AFL, NRL, Formula 1, Supercars, cricket, golf and more,” Quinn said.
Echoing the commercial sentiment, McDonald’s Australia director of marketing, Elly Griffiths, emphasised the natural alignment between fast-food consumer habits and live sports consumption.
“Now, every Macca’s Run can get members a little closer to the action, with their points unlocking a month of Kayo SPORTS Premium and some of the biggest sporting moments of the year,” Griffiths said.
Griffiths further noted that McDonald’s already forms an integral part of match-day routines for millions of Australians, whether attending stadiums in person, viewing with peers, or following broadcasts from home.
Eligible members can seamlessly access the promotion via the Rewards and Deals tab of the MyMacca’s mobile application.
