New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has confirmed a complete venue sell-out for the fourth T20 International between the Black Caps and India at Auckland’s Eden Park.
The upcoming match will draw nearly 40,000 spectators, establishing a new bilateral series attendance record for NZC and surpassing the previous high-water mark of 36,523 established during a 2019 double-header against India at the same venue.
The fixture represents the fourth sell-out of the five-match T20I series, following consecutive full houses at Hagley Oval in Christchurch and a pre-sold capacity crowd for the fifth T20I at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
Total ticket sales for the broader multi-format tour, titled the Hero VIDA India Tour of New Zealand, Powered by Ai+ Nova Smartphone, have overlapped 126,000, with over 71,000 tickets purchased across the short-form leg alone.
Noting that ticket demand across all venues exceeded internal administrative forecasts, New Zealand Cricket chief marketing & commercial officer, Glenn Critchley, said: “There really is nothing like a full house at Eden Park.”
“Breaking a bilateral series attendance record shows just how much appetite there is for this series.
“We were hopeful of strong crowds, but this response has exceeded our expectations and selling out Eden Park really is the cherry on top.
“Friday night has all the ingredients for a memorable occasion, a bumper crowd, a host of superstars on show, and hopefully an evening to remember for fans of both sides.
“I’m sure many fans will remember the scenes of Grant Elliott’s six in the World Cup semi-final back in 2015, and we hope fans are treated to similar entertainment at Eden Park on Friday night,” Critchley said.
The crowd at Eden Park will stand as the third-largest international cricket attendance in the venue’s history. The crowd figure ranks behind only two iconic historic fixtures at the Auckland venue:
The tour commercial suite is led by Indian electric vehicle brand Hero VIDA as Title Sponsor, alongside consumer technology brand Ai+ Nova Smartphone as ‘Powered By’ Partner across a 12-match schedule comprising five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Test matches.
Tickets for the subsequent One Day International and Test legs of the bilateral series remain available via official NZC ticketing portals.
