WNBL Secures Reebok as Official Footwear Partner

The Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) has announced a landmark partnership with global athletic giant Reebok, designating the brand as the league’s Official Footwear Partner.

The collaboration marks an expansion of Reebok’s footprint within Australian basketball, building upon its existing high-profile relationship with the men’s National Basketball League (NBL) to capture the accelerating commercial value of the women’s game.

The launch goes along with the Australian release of the Angel Reese 1, the highly anticipated signature shoe of WNBA superstar and Reebok icon Angel Reese. By aligning with Reese’s global brand power, the WNBL is prioritising the “aspirational” commercial segment, seeking to convert the current surge in international basketball interest into domestic participation and merchandise revenue.

Commenting on the partnership, WNBL CEO, Jennie Sager, said: “It’s essential that young athletes can see what’s possible both on and off the court, and few embody that better than global basketball icon Angel Reese.”

“To have WNBL stars standing alongside her sends a powerful message to the next generation about what they can achieve. We’re proud to welcome Reebok as the Official Footwear Partner,” Sager said.

CEO of Brand Collective, Dave Thomas, noted that the partnership strengthens Reebok’s commitment to nurturing talent and elevating the profile of the sport at every level, from grassroots participants to elite professional athletes.

Central to the agreement is the “Start Her Season Right” initiative, a targeted support program designed to equip WNBL rookies with essential high-performance gear as they transition into the professional ranks. This initiative serves a dual purpose: providing tangible support for emerging talent while ensuring the Reebok brand is embedded in the narrative of the next generation of Australian basketball stars from the outset of their careers.
