UFC Reveals First Event In France

Premier mixed-martial arts organisation, UFC, has revealed a new event, which will take place in Paris on 3 September, at the Accor Arena.

The event will mark the first-ever event in France, after the UFC had tried to obtain recognition by French authorities for a decade, which it gained in 2020, with both the French Boxing Federation and Mixed Martial Arts Federation committing to promote the event.

The sport organisation has also seen exponential growth in France, with an estimated 3.8 million fans, which is the second-largest European country on UFC social platforms.

Commenting on the announcement, UFC president, Dana White, said: “We’ve been working on getting into France for nearly a decade and WE’RE COMING!!!”

“I’m so excited to hold our first event in Paris this September.

“It will be an unbelievable night of fights and an epic historic event for the athletes and fans,” he said.

Additionally, the UFC entered the French sports market last January, with RMC Sport pay-TV acquiring the broadcast rights, which were previously covered through Luxembourg.

The announcement comes after the UFC and athletic recovery company, GameDay Ready, struck a multi-year marketing and research partnership that expands on their previous agreement.
