Top NBL Partnerships; United, Bullets, More

It’s been a busy week for everyone leading into the Christmas break and NBL teams have been no exception.

Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix

All Throwdown games across NBL22 will be delivered by DoorDash for both Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix.

DoorDash will become the naming rights partner when the rival teams play games against each other.

South East Melbourne Phoenix CEO, Tommy Greer, said: “We’re excited to see DoorDash come on board as the naming rights sponsor for all Throwdown games this season.”

“These are our biggest games every season, and to see DoorDash come on board shows the rivalry between us and United is growing and has captured the public’s attention”, he said.

Melbourne United have also announced a partnership with engagement platform 15 Seconds Of Fame, which DoorDash will be sponsoring.

South East Melbourne Phoenix has also announced a new partnership with Statewide Sports and compression wear brand SKINS for the NBL22 season.

Brisbane Bullets

The Brisbane Bullets have partnered with fan engagement platform, Komo Digital for the 2021/22 season, in a deal which is set to bolster the marketing tactics of the entire Bullets sponsorship portfolio and create an increased connection with fans.

Komo CEO, Joel Steel, said: “There is no denying that social media has created an accessible and low-cost opportunity for brands to connect with fans, and create online encounters.”

“But with this, comes an overload of content and highly competitive space in user’s feeds.

“The customised nature of Komo creates that cut-through that will make fans easier to reach, driving an increased level of fan engagement,” Steel said.

Elsewhere, Genius Childcare has joined the Brisbane Bullets to become their community support partner in a three-year deal.

Genius Childcare operates 30 childcare centres across Australia, with 14 in Queensland.

Bullets CEO, Peter McLennan, welcomed Genius Childcare to the Bullets family ahead of NBL22.

“We are thrilled to have Genius Childcare on board for the next three seasons,” McLennan said.

“The Brisbane community is such an integral part of our club and we believe Genius’ values align with our own.

“It’s going to be a really exciting few years for the club and we look forward to seeing our partnership flourish,” he said.

Cairns Taipans

The CQUniversity Cairns Taipans have partnered with o2fit as an official supplier of compression equipment for the 2021-22 NBL season.

O2fit was established in 2013 and offers compression wear ranging from injury recovery to high performance.

Taipans CEO, Mark Beecroft, said he was happy to welcome 02fit into the family.

“We are pleased to partner with o2fit as a local Australian company that are focused on providing affordable compression wear, that is accessible for everyone,” Beecroft said.

“We know how much our fans – particularly our younger ones – want to be able to wear whatever brands the players are representing,” he said.

Illawarra Hawks

Campbell Petroleum Distributors have extended their corporate partnership with the Illawarra Hawks for the seventh season.

Campbell Petroleum Distributors will partner through hospitality options and venue signage, while also assisting fulfill the club’s game-day hydration requirements in 2021-22.

Campbell Petroleum managing director, Tim Campbell, said: “Our long-standing partnership is a combination of supporting a local Illawarra sporting team within our community and giving our customers and employees something really exciting to go and experience.”
