Super Bowl LVII Revealed As Most Watched Decider In Six Years

The world watched in awe as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles faced off in Super Bowl LVII, which ended with a last-second win by the Chiefs and drew in record-breaking viewership numbers.

According to FOX Sports, the game drew an average viewership of 113 million, making it the third-most watched television show of all time and the best Super Bowl audience since the New England Patriots’ comeback win in Super Bowl LI.

Despite the high viewership, Super Bowl LVII’s viewership fell short of the record 114.4 million set during Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.

The halftime show, featuring Rihanna, also drew a massive audience, with an average of 118.7 million viewers across TV and digital platforms, making it the second-most watched Super Bowl halftime performance on record and the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show since Katy Perry’s 2015 performance.

In total, 182.6 million viewers watched all or part of Super Bowl LVII on FOX and FOX Deportes.

The game was also the most-streamed Super Bowl in history, totalling 7 million, as well as the most-watched Super Bowl game in Spanish-language cable TV history, with 951,000 viewers on FOX Deportes.

The viewership figures come after companies paid a record high US$7 million per 30 seconds for ads during the game.
