Seven Consulting Extends its Opals Naming Rights Partnership Ahead of the World Cup

Basketball Australia has announced a four-year partnership renewal with Seven Consulting to remain the naming rights partner of the Australian Opals until 2029.

The extension injects a corporate stability into the high-performance women’s basketball program as the national side prepares for a heavy international cycle, spearheaded by the upcoming FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin this September and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Financially, the prolonged commitment allows Basketball Australia to insulate its premier women’s brand against broader media rights volatility. While the exact commercial value remains undisclosed, the strategic longevity of a partner remaining through 2029 ensures consistent funding for development pathways, high-performance training camps, and international travel logistics.

Opals head coach, Sandy Brondello, praised the structural certainty the corporate partner brings to the national setup during a crucial transitional era for the squad.

“It’s awesome that Seven Consulting will continue their support of the Opals and it’s an exciting time for the program.”

“It’s essential to have partners that believe in the vision and we’re appreciative of their commitment as our focus turns to the FIBA World Cup and LA28,” Brondello said

For corporate partners like Seven Consulting, backing national teams yields strong brand alignment and allows organizations to project values of high performance and collective execution onto a national stage.

Founder of Seven Consulting, Declan Boylan, reiterated that the extended financial commitment reflects a deep organizational synergy with the team’s elite sporting culture.

“Extending our sponsorship of the Australian Opals is a proud moment for Seven Consulting.”

“The Opals’ pursuit of excellence, commitment to teamwork and ability to perform under pressure align strongly with who we are and what we stand for and we honoured to be their partners since 2022.” Boylan said.

Deloitte Global forecasts that the global market for elite women’s sports will eclipse $4.3 billion in 2026, registering a massive threefold expansion over a four-year window. Regionally, the sport is capitalising on a notable groundswell, with local Australian basketball participation rising by 25 per cent over the last two years alone.

The immediate focus of the partnership will drive the national team straight into a highly publicised, two-game international test series against world number two China at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena this July, which acts as the critical launchpad for their World Cup campaign.
