The Australian Grand Prix stood out as the pinnacle of the weekend’s sporting events, with Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit in Melbourne witnessing its highest Sunday attendance on record. An impressive crowd of 132,106 spectators gathered to watch the live action, contributing to more than 452,000 fans who packed into the circuit over four days. This marked an increase of 7,424 attendees compared to the 2023 event, highlighting the growing appeal of Formula 1® in Australia.

Streaming and Broadcasting Success

On the digital front, Kayo Sports announced it was preparing to stream up to 512 hours of live action, encompassing 18 sports codes. The platform witnessed its biggest-ever weekend in viewing, attributing the surge to significant events like the Australian Grand Prix, AFL, NRL, and more. According to Kayo Sports, the platform saw over 654 million minutes streamed from Thursday to Sunday, marking a significant increase in engagement.

Network 10’s coverage of the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2024 reached 3.2 million Australians across the weekend. The race was watched by 1.55 million Australians, securing the #1 spot as the day’s sport and achieving the highest commercial shares since 2008. The event’s success was bolstered by its biggest-ever livestream audience, which saw a 51% increase compared to the previous year.
