P
ort Adelaide has announced a partnership with energy provider, AGL, set to become the club’s official energy partner until at least the end of the 2022 AFL season.

Port Adelaide CEO, Matthew Richardson, said the partnership will help play a key role in reducing the club’s carbon emissions through a certified carbon neutral electricity product.

“We are very excited to partner with AGL, a reputable national brand that has demonstrated a strong commitment to South Australia for many decades,” Richardson said.

“AGL has been an important part of the Port Adelaide community, operating from Torrens Island in the Port River Estuary.

“It’s great to welcome them to the Port Adelaide Football Club family and build on that relationship with our community.

“Port Adelaide looks forward to partnering with AGL as we aspire to become a more sustainable club by reducing our carbon emissions,” he said.

AGL general manager for commercial and industrial customers, Ryan Warburton, said AGL is excited to partner with a club with a long, proud history in South Australia.

“AGL is a proud member of the Port Adelaide community, operating South Australia’s largest power station at Torrens Island and powering more than 380,000 South Australian homes and businesses,” Warburton said.

“We look forward to helping Port Adelaide become a more sustainable business, helping offset their emissions via our carbon neutral product and be part of Australia’s energy transition.

“As part of our sponsorship, we will be engaging with Port Adelaide’s business community throughout the season as well as offering energy deals for club members and fans who choose AGL.

“We will also be putting our support behind some of the club’s community initiatives.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the extended Port Adelaide family to assist them with their energy needs,” he said.
