TAC Victoria has extended its deal as a Major Partner of Melbourne Victory for the next three years, a move that will see the duo use the power and reach of the club to build awareness and promote safe driving behaviour.
Recently, both parties have been working together to support the ‘Towards Zero’ strategy to reduce death and serious injury on Victoria’s roads.
As part of Towards Zero, the TAC will be asking all Victory members and fans to think safety first when buying their next new or used car, highlighted through an integrated TVC, launched today, featuring Melbourne Victory players.
As an extension of this initiative, Melbourne Victory Goalkeeper, Lawrence Thomas, will also wear the number ‘0’ in three home matches this season in which TAC is the matchday partner.
Melbourne Victory Chief Executive Officer, Trent Jacobs, said a central component of the long-standing partnership has been using Melbourne Victory as a platform for sharing road safety messages to members, fans and the wider community through match day activations and digital campaigns.
“The message of road safety is incredibly important, and one we’re proud to actively support TAC on,” Jacobs said.
“There is a core belief in shared responsibility, in that we are all part of the solution of achieving zero deaths and serious injuries on Victoria’s roads.
“We see thousands of members and fans through our gates each season, many of whom commute by car, so want to play a role in making sure our roads are as safe as possible.”
The partnership symbolises both Melbourne Victory and the TAC’s commitment to achieving zero road deaths and serious injuries.
TAC Chief Executive Officer, Joe Calafiore, said the partnership with Melbourne Victory will continue to significantly help spread their message of road safety.
“Being able to partner with Melbourne Victory for the last 15 years has helped increase the Victorian community’s awareness of road safety issues,” Calafiore said.
“Victory are strong supporters of our message and have been a wonderful vehicle in helping change driver behaviour and ultimately reduce the incidence of road trauma.
“We look forward to continuing this partnership and their ongoing support in reducing Victoria’s road toll through the Towards Zero campaign.”
