Melbourne Storm, Metro Trains Extend Transport Partnership

National Rugby League’s (NRL) Melbourne Storm has announced a partnership extension with the Metro Train network, helping more fans get to AAMI Park for the 2023 season.

The pair aim to continue growing crowd numbers, encouraging supporters to use the network’s public transport system.

The deal will see Metro host pop-up activations at both train stations and Storm matches, giving fans the chance to score exclusive prizes ahead of home games.

Commenting on the deal, Melbourne Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said: “Statistics show that the majority of our members and fans make their way to our home games at AAMI Park via the Metro Trains system.”

“In the lead-up to kick off, the nearby Metro stations of Richmond and Flinders Street are a sea of Storm purple and we’re keen to continue to grow those numbers through this partnership,” he said.

Metro Trains CEO, Raymond O’Flaherty, added: “We run extra services at every Storm game and just like the great team, we’re quick, we’re reliable and we’re here for the fans.”

This announcement comes after Storm signed a five-year partnership with the City of Casey to drive rugby participation in the region.
