Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has announced that high-profile AFL commentator and media personality Kane Cornes has signed a long-term contract extension, keeping him with the network until the end of 2029.
Already contracted through 2026, Cornes’ new deal adds an additional three years to his tenure, reinforcing both his loyalty to SEN and the network’s strategic investment in one of Australian sport’s most influential voices.
Cornes, a two-time Alf Brown Trophy winner for outstanding media performance, will continue to headline across Fireball with Kane & Kingy, Crunch Time, and AFL Nation’s expert commentary team, maintaining his central role in SEN’s AFL coverage.
“I’ve never been a fan of long-term contracts in footy – so the irony of this deal isn’t lost on me.”
“But SEN is home – I love the team, the audience and the freedom to say what I think. I’m excited to keep doing what I do, and to keep challenging the conversation around sport in this country,” Cornes said.
SEN CEO, Craig Hutchison, said the long-term commitment reflects the network’s belief in Cornes’ distinctive brand of analysis and his powerful connection with audiences.
“Kane is one of the most compelling broadcasters in Australian sport.”
“His authenticity, courage and work ethic are unmatched. Our audience loves him, and we’re thrilled he’s committed long-term to SEN,” Hutchison said.
The extension underscores SEN’s continued focus on personality-driven sports media, securing elite on-air talent as it expands its footprint across radio, digital platforms and live sport coverage.
Cornes’ presence remains integral to SEN’s content ecosystem, helping to drive engagement, audience loyalty, and brand differentiation in an increasingly competitive sports media landscape.
The move also signals SEN’s confidence in the enduring appeal of strong opinion and unfiltered debate as a cornerstone of its programming strategy.
Cornes’ sharp takes and fearless commentary have consistently generated discussion and cross-platform reach — qualities that align with SEN’s positioning as a network built around authentic voices and passionate fan engagement.
With the deal now locked in through 2029, Cornes will remain one of the defining voices of Australian rules football media for years to come.
