F1 Exhibition to Make Asia-Pacific Debut in Melbourne in 2025

Formula 1 (F1) has confirmed that its award-winning F1 Exhibition will make its Asia-Pacific debut in Melbourne on 29 November 2025, hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

The travelling exhibition, which has previously attracted large audiences in Madrid, Vienna, Toronto, London, Buenos Aires and Amsterdam, will use Melbourne as its first regional base following its upcoming Oberhausen edition in Germany.

The Australian event highlights Formula 1’s strategy to extend its brand presence beyond race weekends and deepen engagement with fans through cultural and entertainment properties.

Framing the decision as a natural fit for the city’s sporting culture, Formula 1 Chief Commercial Officer, Emily Prazer, said: “Every time Formula 1 comes to Melbourne we feel the passion for the sport throughout this amazing city, so it’s only fitting for it to be the destination for the first F1 Exhibition in Asia-Pacific.”

What is in for Melbourne?

already home to the Australian Grand Prix since 1996, the exhibition adds another anchor to its reputation as a hub for international sport and entertainment. With the Grand Prix secured under a long-term hosting agreement, the exhibition provides additional year-round economic and tourism benefits, particularly in attracting motorsport fans from interstate and overseas.

The Melbourne edition will include a new seventh gallery focused on Australia’s motorsport heritage, celebrating drivers such as Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Mark Webber, Daniel Ricciardo and current McLaren driver Oscar Piastri.

This localisation strategy reflects Formula 1’s intent to connect with markets through tailored storytelling, while also offering sponsors and partners region-specific activation opportunities.

Exhibition Details

The exhibition format follows a multi-room journey combining artefacts, immersive technology and archival content. Highlights include the Design Lab, with contributions from leading teams and suppliers such as McLaren, Red Bull, Mercedes and Pirelli; Drivers and Duels, featuring over 60 helmets and race suits; and Survival, which will display parts from Romain Grosjean’s Haas following his 2020 crash. The finale, The Pit Wall, offers a cinematic replay of defining F1 moments.
