Rental car company, Europcar, has re-signed as the official partner of the NBL Referees for the 2019-20 season and will expand on their current deal to include content creation.

Europcar, which is entering its fifth consecutive year as the NBL’s official car rental partner, will also provide fans with weekly content featuring the Head of NBL Referees Scott Butler explaining any plays of interest from the previous round.

NBL Chief Commercial Officer, Brad Joyner, said: “Europcar is a fantastic supporter of the NBL and we are delighted to welcome them back as the official partner of the NBL Referees, who are such an important part of our sport.

“Europcar see the value of partnering with the league and after enjoying record attendances and broadcast audiences last season, NBL 20 is shaping up to be even bigger and better with the entry of a new team and big-name stars.

“We also have a new landmark broadcast agreement with SBS and ESPN and there’s never been a better time to be part of the NBL.”

Europcar Australia and New Zealand Head of Marketing, Ionie Felmingham, said: “We’re thrilled to be entering our 5th year of partnership with the NBL, during what is a very exciting growth phase for the sport not only here in Australia and New Zealand but also on the world stage.

“We’ve worked directly with the NBL for a number of years now and have seen the sport grow in popularity exponentially. We’re looking forward to seeing the Europcar referees for the 2019-20 season again proudly wearing Europcar Green across more games, more often,” she said.

The NBL 2019-20 season tips-off on Thursday 3rd October when Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix meet in the inaugural Throwdown at Melbourne Arena.
