Dodgers Foundation, YOSHIKI and Japanese Baseballers Collaborate on Wildfire Aid

YOSHIKI and Baseball Legends Unite for Wildfire Relief Efforts, in a commendable display of solidarity, celebrated composer and philanthropist YOSHIKI has teamed up with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and prominent Japanese baseball figures Roki Sasaki and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to support wildfire relief initiatives in both the United States and Japan.

This collaboration follows YOSHIKI’s recent historic performance of the U.S. and Japanese national anthems at the 2025 Major League Baseball Opening Day held in Tokyo.

In partnership with LADF, the trio has autographed the original sheet music for both anthems, which has been officially authenticated by Major League Baseball.

These unique music scores, elegantly framed, will be separately auctioned off by LADF, running from April 14 to April 28.

Proceeds from the auction will assist those impacted by the destructive wildfires affecting Los Angeles and the northern Japanese city of Ofunato.

The initiative resonates deeply with Roki Sasaki, as the player’s hometown of Ofunato has recently faced its worst forest fires in over three decades, has personally donated 10 million yen (AUD$109,700) and 5 million yen (AUD$54,850) in supplies.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have shown their support by matching his donation with a further 15 million yen (AUD$164,550), highlighting their ongoing dedication to humanitarian causes on a global scale.

Philanthropy has always been integral to YOSHIKI’s career as he has previously donated for wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles and remains fervently committed to leveraging his platform for those in need, he has also contributed a generous donation to help victims to the catastrophic 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

YOSHIKI’s powerful renditions set a compelling tone for the Opening Day festivities, emblematic of the rich cultural and sporting connections between the U.S. and Japan, while reinforcing the unifying nature of music and sports.
