Chemist Warehouse Signs Multi-Year Deal With Australian Open

Chemist Warehouse has signed a multi-year deal to become the first official pharmacy partner of the Australian Open.

As part of the new deal starting in 2020, the Australian Open 2020 Chemist Warehouse store will be a one-stop-shop for tennis fans’ wellness and beauty products onsite at the Australian Open, located in the Grand Slam Oval area.

Tennis Australia chief revenue and experiential officer, Richard Heaselgrave, said this deal shows the work Tennis Australia has done to ensure fans have everything they need to enjoy their time at the Australian Open.

“We have worked hard to increase our offerings onsite at the Australian Open, and we’re excited to partner with Chemist Warehouse to provide our fans with a range of health and beauty products that will help make their day at the tournament more enjoyable,” Mr Heaselgrave said.

As part of the partnership, Chemist Warehouse will also present the obstacle course, one of the largest activations on the Lower Terrace, at the new-look Australian Open Ballpark at Birrarung Marr, which is set to be four times the size of previous years.

Chemist Warehouse director, Mario Tascone, said he is excited to be supporting ‘the biggest global sporting event this summer’ in the 2020 Australian Open.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with the Australian Open, the biggest global sporting event this summer,” Mr Tascone said.

“At Chemist Warehouse, we take pride in supporting sports at every level and we’re excited to activate at the AO [Australian Open], the pinnacle event on the tennis calendar.

“Chemist Warehouse will be the one-stop-shop for all your health and beauty needs at our massive pop-up shop, so everyone can stay well and look fabulous at the Australian Open,” he said.

This announcement comes as the 2020 Australian Open is set to take place at Melbourne Park from January 20 – February 2, featuring the top names in tennis, including Australia’s own, world no.1 Ash Barty.
