Charlotte Hynes, Senior Partnership Sales Manager at the Parramatta Eels, will be speaking at the Women In Sport Summit 2024. With a robust background in negotiating and managing high-value partnerships for brands and rights holders, Charlotte has focused on commercialising women’s football in the UK. In her current role with the Parramatta Eels, she ensures parity across the sponsorship portfolio for both the NRL and NRLW teams, fostering a ‘one club’ mentality and generating revenue to support the club’s community and pathways programs.
At the summit, Charlotte will speak within the Commercial stream on “How We Can Commercialise Women’s Rugby in New and Exciting Ways,” sharing innovative strategies for promoting and growing the sport.
Amanda Fielding, the former Head Coach of the Australian Women’s Volleyball Team, brings extensive experience in athlete and program management both on and off the court. Currently, she leads global projects for Women’s Sport and Pathways at VALD Performance. In her role, Amanda addresses the lack of data on female athletes by collaborating with sports organisations worldwide to enhance the understanding of musculoskeletal (MSK) data for talent identification, longevity, success, and injury management.
With over two decades in sport science, education, and business, Amanda has a diverse background as a high-performance athlete, coach, and administrator. She works with various institutions to apply practical opportunities to research using new technology prevalent in high-performance sport.
At the Women In Sport Summit 2024, Amanda will discuss the importance of data in decision-making for athletes, its relevance to female athletes, and how professional women’s teams and elite leagues use VALD Performance equipment. She will also explain how to integrate this technology into programs to build information, inform decisions, and generate income.
Lauren Gandini, Managing Director and co-founder of Stella Athlete Management, will be speaking at the Women In Sport Summit 2024. Stella Athlete Management is a female-focused agency representing over 80 professional and emerging athletes and coaches in sports such as AFLW, netball, basketball, and cricket both in Australia and overseas. With a background in law and psychology, 7 years of legal practice, and a semi-professional playing career in basketball and netball, Lauren brings a wealth of experience to her role. She is also a sporting tribunal member, has held integrity roles at Basketball WA, commissioner roles for the NBL1 West basketball competition, and is a Board Director for Athletes for Hope Australian chapter.
At the summit, Lauren will discuss “The Economics of Balancing Work and Play,” offering insights into managing professional and personal commitments in the sports industry.
Shae Bolton-Brown, General Manager of the Melbourne Mavericks, the newest netball team in the Suncorp Super Netball competition, will be speaking at the Women In Sport Summit 2024.
Following her impressive career as a professional netballer at the Collingwood Magpies and West Coast Fever, Shae served as the CEO of online wellbeing provider PukaUp and Head of Strategy at the Tjungu Project. In 2023, Shae returned to netball, and was appointed General Manager of Suncorp Super Netball’s newest team, the Melbourne Mavericks.
At the summit, Shae will unpack how she successfully established a brand new netball team in under 12 months, and will share insights on the lessons learned in growing commercial opportunities to advance netball in Australia.
Professor Philip Morgan, internationally renowned family wellbeing expert, Professor within the School of Education at the University of Newcastle and Co-Deputy Director of the University of Newcastle’s Centre for Active Living and Learning, will be a keynote speaker at this year’s summit. With a distinguished career marked by securing over $26 million in research funding, co-authoring more than 330 research papers, and supervising 33 PhD students, Professor Morgan is renowned for his expertise in promoting physical activity, sports participation, and wellbeing, particularly among fathers and families. He founded the ‘Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered’ program, which has successfully engaged over 5500 participants, enhancing daughters’ wellbeing and sports involvement while promoting gender equity.
At the summit, attendees can expect Professor Morgan to share the impactful strategies and successes of the Daughters and Dads program. He will discuss the importance of universal, evidence-based approaches to empower girls and families, aiming to dismantle societal gender stereotypes. His session promises to inspire attendees to champion the message that sports, careers, and opportunities are for everyone, emphasising the need to accelerate girls’ physical skills and confidence.
