Visa extends 32-year partnership with Olympics

The International Olympic Committee extends 32-year partnership with Visa.

Visa first signed up the highest tier of the IOC’s sponsorship programme in 1986 and the new deal will see the partnership extended to 2032.

Visa will continue its support of the International Paralympic Committee and the Paralympic Games through the IOC-IPC long-term collaboration agreement.

IOC’s Marketing Commission chairman, Tsunekazu Takeda said: “Today’s announcement demonstrates both the strength of our enduring partnership with Visa, one of the original founding members of the global TOP programme, as well as the long-term appeal of the Olympic Movement for the world’s leading companies.”

Chief marketing and communications officer at Visa, Lynne Biggar is happy to continue their partnership with Visa beyond 2018.

“Visa provides a secure and fast way to pay across merchants, borders and currencies, and the Olympic Games provides an unparalleled opportunity to promote the Visa brand at both a local market level and globally.”

The next Olympic Games will be hosted in Tokyo in 2020.
