The world’s most loved mixed martial arts organisation, the UFC, has signed Nick Smith as the new Vice President of Global Partnerships.
Smith will be responsible for overseeing partnerships for UFC with a focus on establishing strategic relationships with new international partners.
Smith will also oversee the management of current UFC partners such as AirAsia, General Tire, Tabcorp and Nemiroff.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nick and his wealth of sports sponsorship experience to UFC,” UFC Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships, Paul Asencio said.
“He will be a tremendous asset to us as we grow our roster of sponsors and make UFC a must-have partner for blue-chip brands around the world.”
Smith brings to UFC more than 12 years of experience in global sports marketing, having managed sports sponsorship strategies with brands throughout Asia – Pacific, EMEA and North America.
Prior to joining UFC, Smith most recently served as the Global Chief Commercial Officer at Bastion Collective, where he first represented the UFC brand.
Before beginning his sports marketing career, Smith spent four seasons with the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) where he was a first-round draft pick in 2002.
