Top NRL Commercial Partnerships: Roosters, Rabbitohs, More

ith the 2021 NRL season now taking place in Queensland due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across Australia causing border lockdowns, here’s the latest commercial partnerships from around the league.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced ShineHub as the club’s official energy partner until at least the end of 2024.

The Sydney-based solar technology company, ShineHub, will support the club’s Rabbitohs Mini League and Rabbitohs School Holiday Junior Clinics, as well as provide exclusive offers for members, fans, and the Rabbitohs corporate network.

Rabbitohs CEO, Blake Solly, said: “We are delighted to have ShineHub onboard as our official energy partner.”

“It is great to partner with an organisation that shares many of the same values as the Rabbitohs.

“Both organisations are innovative, and on a mission to continue making a positive impact on both the community and the environment,” Solly said.

ShineHub CEO and co-founder, Alex Georgiou, said the partnership will have a significant focus on giving back to the community.

“ShineHub shares the Rabbitohs passion for working at a community level to improve the lives of everyday Australians,” Georgiou said.

“We’re fighting for a future that benefits all Australians, and we were recognised as innovator of the year by the Climate Alliance in 2018 for those efforts.

“We’re excited to join forced with the Rabbitohs to make that future a reality,” he said.

Elsewhere in the NRL, the Sydney Rooster have named Lloyds Auctioneers and Valuers as a premier partner of the club until at least the end of 2023.

As part of the partnership, Lloyds will feature on stadium signage through the remainder of the 2021 season, before moving to goal post padding signage for the remainder of the partnership.

Sydney Rooster chief operating officer, Jarrod Johnstone, said: “Over the last seventeen years, Lloyds have proven to be Australia’s premier auctioneering and valuation company.”

“It gives me great pleasure in announced that they will be a part of the Roosters family for at least the next two-and-a-half years, and we are looking forward to seeing Lloyds emblazoned around the new state-of-the-art Sydney Football Stadium.

“With their attention to detail and dedication towards their operations, it was clear to see that the Sydney Roosters and Lloyds share very similar standards and values, which will no doubt cultivate a strong relationship,” Johnstone said.

The Sydney Roosters have also announced the launch of the official Sydney Roosters business club app in partnership with communication platform, Bundeling.

The new app, which will be launched on Wednesday, aims to assist those in the club’s business network to network ahead of the club’s corporate events.

The Wests Tigers have revealed a new four-part documentary series, Wild Wests: Tales from Tiger Town, to be shown on Foxtel and Kayo.

Wests Tigers CEO, Justin Pascoe, said the series follows the club’s 2021 season over four, hour-long episodes.

“This decision was taken on with Fox over a year ago now,” Pascoe said.

“It’s really important to understand and note that it’s been a really brave decision from the club.

“We’re taking on the responsibility to give our members and fans access like they’ve never had before, and rugby league fans in general, and it demonstrates the passion that every single person at this club has to make it great.

“The greatest access we can give is what we have in this documentary, there’s been over 600 hours of filming that have gone into it.

“I know as a fan myself that the greatest thing you can have is access to your favourite team and that’s what we’ve tried to do with this one.

“The biggest thing that separates this from other documentaries is the raw nature of it.

“It’s a genuine appraisal of what happens, from the administration side of the business to the football side, to training and game day.

“It shows all the preparation that goes into making the weekend happen.

“Having said, I don’t think what we do is materially all that different to what any other club does.

“What we are is the first club to take this challenge on and we’re really proud of that, the innovation we show as a club,” he said.
