With the 2022 Call of Duty League season approaching its first major, here are the latest esports commercial partnerships.

Team-Envy

Envy Gaming:

Envy Gaming have announced a multi-year partnership with gaming peripherals company, Razer.

The partnership will include all rosters under both the Team Envy and OpTic Gaming brands, and content creators, with the parties collaborating on in-person activations and aiding the research and development of future Razer gaming products.

Commenting on the partnership, Envy Gaming chief executive officer, Adam Rymer, said: “Bringing together innovators and industry leaders is core to what we believe will propel esports and gaming further into mainstream culture and entertainment.”

“Adding a global leader of Razer’s calibre across all Envy and OpTic teams and creators gives great payoff to the culture and audience cultivation we’re building today and for the future,” he said.

Envy Gaming vice president of sales and marketing, Shay Butler, added: “Our players can’t wait to get their hands on the latest Razer products to keep that extra edge when competing at the highest levels.”

“This partnership is a great way to kick off our 2022 competitive seasons and beyond,” he said.

The announcement comes after Envy Gaming reached an agreement with Mountain Dew, to make the drinks company the presenting partner of the 2022 Call of Duty League Major I, hosted by OpTic Texas.

Additionally, Mountain Dew and Razer will sponsor event activations alongside other partners: controller company Scuf and FPS training platform Aim Lab.

ESL Gaming

ESL Gaming:

ESL Gaming have announced a new image licensing partnership with digital media platform, ESPAT.

The deal will see ESPAT work as the official photo distribution partner of Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) tournaments and the ESL Pro League, with the deal beginning at IEM Katowice earlier this week.

Commenting on the partbership, ESPAT CEO, Matt Hill, said: “ESL Gaming is one of the preeminent organisations in the world of gaming and esports, with unparalleled global reach.”

“ESPAT is proud to call ESL a partner, and together we look forward to driving innovation within gaming content creation.

“Our licensing and technology solution will help scale the accessibility of premium ESL imagery while generating new ways for photographers and creators to monetise their platforms,” he said.

The deal comes after ESPAT partnered with North American tournament organiser, Unified, in July 2021.

Luminosity Gaming

Luminosity and Enthusiast Gaming:

Enthusiast Gaming have agreed to a multi-ear partnership with digital asset mining company, Hut 8.

The deal will see Hut 8 sponsor Enthusiast Gaming’s subsidiary, Luminosity Gaming, with both parties collaborating on new experiences and content within mobile and blockchain gaming, Web 3.0, NFTs and cryptocurrency.

Commenting on the deal, Enthusiast Gaming chief executive officer, Adrian Montgomery, said: “As we consider new opportunities in Web 3.0, the Metaverse, NFTs and cryptocurrency, we’re proud to join a partnership that will really deliver for our creators, communities and fans, and to kick things off with Hut 8 by bringing our flywheel of opportunities to them, through our latest launch from Addicting Games, and as a partner on Luminosity Gaming.”

“With one of the highest inventories of self-mined Bitcoin of any publicly-traded company globally, Hut 8 has established itself as an innovative leader by bridging digital asset mining with the traditional data centre industry,” he said.

The deal comes after Enthusiast Gaming previously secured deals with ESPAT TV, TikTok and G Fuel.
