Top A-League Commercial Partnerships This Week: Western United, Macarthur FC, And More

In a week filled with commercial partnerships in the A-League, here are some that you may have missed.

Western United have announced McDonald’s Australia as the naming rights partner for the club’s Tasmanian Festival of Football.

The family-friendly event, titled the Macca’s Festival of Football, will take place from April 14-22, with the club playing two A-League fixtures against Central Coast Mariners and Wellington Phoenix.

Western United CEO, Chris Pehlivanis, said it was exciting to be welcoming the fast-food chain on board.

“We already love the Macca’s Half Time Heroes at our A-League matches, so to extend this to include being a partner for the Festival of Football is a real boost to grassroots football in Tasmania,” Pehlivanis said.

“The Macca’s Festival of Football will be a fantastic week celebration in Tasmania which we are excited to deliver for the community of Tasmania,” he said.

Announced earlier in the week, Sydney FC have extended their deal with Glad Group as a shirt sleeve sponsor and technical partner to both their A-League and W-League teams.

The premium partnership began in January 2021, with a view of extending the deal at the end of the current campaign, but success in the collaboration have led both parties to sign on early.

Sydney FC CEO, Danny Townsend, said the partnership is a sign of the club’s large commercial footprint.

“We are delighted with our partnership with Glad Group and how well we’ve worked together,” Townsend said.

“Glad Group have integrated into our Sky Blue family with ease and it makes huge sense to bring forward our planned extension.

“Our aligned values and strong community commitment, particularly towards women’s football and our W-League team, are key reasons why our relationship is flourishing, and I look forward to continuing this for many seasons ahead,” he said.

Elsewhere, and Macarthur FC have announced Sharp Extensive IT as their newest game day partner, whilst also announcing Extract Espresso as a commercial partner.
