epco Supercars Pro Eseries have announced nine teams have secured their spot in an expanded 19-team competition for the Esports event, which begins next month.

Previously, only 12 teams were in the tournament, which will once again feature a number of the world’s best online racers competing on the iRacing platform.

In addition to standalone entries, Triple Eight, Tickford, Penrite Racing, WAU, Brad Jones Racing, Kelly Racing, Team 18, Matt Stone Racing and Team Sydney have all secured places.

More than $26,000 worth of prize money will be up for grabs in the 2020 competition, which will involve stars such as Mark Winterbottom and James Golding.

Repco recently announced its five-year sponsorship deal with Supercars, revealing the Supercars Championship would be renamed the Repco Supercars Championship from 2021-2025.

On top of this lucrative deal, Repco claimed the naming rights partnership of the Eseries, which saw a boost earlier this year as the BP Supercars All Stars took centre stage during the COVID-19-enforced absence of the Supercars competition.

Current Championship drivers including inaugural Champion of the All Stars Eseries, Shane van Gisbergen, and close online racing rival, Anton De Pasquale, will have the ability to also compete as wildcards in the Eseries.

The Repco Supercars Pro Eseries will commence October 28, with each round to held on a Wednesday evening and broadcasted live on Fox Sports, Kayo and the Supercars Facebook, YouTube and Twitch pages, up until the final round on December 2.

BP ultimate racing will also give the opportunity to two professional sim racers in Fawzan El-Nabi and Emily Jones.

El-Nabi said that he was looking forward to the 2020 Eseries, and is optimistic for the tournament.

“There is a lot to show from my point of view for what I can do and what I should have done, so I think there’s a lot more to come from me for sure,”El-Nabi said

“In Australia we’ve got some of the top sim racers around so it will be tough, but I don’t see why we can’t get a win or two maybe,” he said.

Jones will also return in 2020, after finishing 10th in last year’s competition with Workplace Law Racing.

“It should be a heap of fun with a new team and more drivers so I think there will be more on-track battling. I’m really excited,” Jones said.

“BP is a massive partner of Supercars racing and racing in Australia, so to be racing for such a big well-known brand is pretty surreal,” she said.
