The Seven Network has announced a multi-year agreement for the exclusive broadcast rights to America’s Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament in Australia.

All 34 T20 matches will be available live and free on 7plus Sport, providing an exciting opportunity for cricket fans on the Australian landscape.

Entering its third year, MLC has quickly positioned itself as the premier T20 competition in the United States, featuring a host of international stars.

Former Australian captain and current 7Cricket commentator Ricky Ponting will serve as head coach for Washington Freedom, adding further interest for Australian viewers.

MLC stands out as the first professional T20 cricket league in the U.S., allowing Australian talent to compete alongside local players from cities such as Dallas, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C.

Commenting on the broadcast rights, Seven’s commercial director of sport, Renée Quirk, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our cricket footprint with the addition of Major League Cricket to 7plus Sport, offering fans a new and exciting competition to follow through winter.”

“This is a natural extension of our cricket story after a blockbuster Indian summer, and it perfectly sets the stage as we build towards a huge Ashes summer ahead,

“We’re proud to offer live and free coverage of the competition, with every match on 7plus Sport and the Final simulcast on 7mate and 7plus Sport, helping to expose a new wave of talent and excitement to Aussie fans,” she noted.

She emphasised that this collaboration with MLC is just the beginning of a multi-year journey aimed at providing comprehensive coverage of the competition.

Seven’s head of cricket, Joel Starcevic, added: “Major League Cricket is the next frontier for the sport, and we cannot wait to deliver every ball to fans across Australia, live, free and exclusively on 7plus Sport.”

“Like any American sporting product, it’s going to be massive, and we’re thrilled to bring all 34 games to Australian viewers as we count down to an unbelievable Summer of Cricket on Seven and 7plus Sport,” Starvecic.

The tournament is set to kick off on Friday, 13 June 2025, with the opening match featuring San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom at 9:00 AM AEST.

All matches will be available for free streaming on 7plus Sport, culminating with the final broadcast live on 7mate on Monday, 14 July.
