The Las Vegas Raiders have announced Sandra Douglass Morgan as their latest team President, making her the first black woman to hold the position in National Football League (NFL) history.
Commenting on her appointment, Morgan, said: “It is the honour of a lifetime to join the Raiders at one of the most defining times in the team’s history.”
“I look forward to taking this team’s integrity, spirit and commitment to excellence on the field into every facet of this organization,” Morgan said.
Raiders Owner Mark Davis said he is thrilled about Morgan’s appointment.
“Her experience integrity and passion for this community will be invaluable to our organization,” Davis added.
Recently holding roles at law firm, Covington & Burling, LLP, and at Nevada Gaming Control as boards’ chairwoman, Morgan’s induction comes two months after former Raiders president Dan Ventrelle left the organisation after less than a year in the role.
Additionally, Morgan, who is a Nevada local, has held a former role as city attorney for the City of North Las Vegas.
The announcement comes after Sports Data Labs, Inc. (SD Labs) and the National Football Players’ Association (NFLPA) announced a partnership to monetise player data.
