The Perth Wildcats have entered a new chapter in their storied history with Mark Arena acquiring a 52.5% majority stake in the club for $21 million. The deal sees Arena, CEO of global cybersecurity firm Anomali and a lifelong Wildcats fan, plans to further expand his ownership in the coming years.
Arena’s background in both business and tech is expected to influence the club’s approach to innovation and growth. As part of his vision the club hopes to create greater fan experiences through enhanced digital engagement, and showcasing both the team and the city of Perth on a global stage.
Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) remains a minority shareholder, continuing its involvement alongside its other sporting properties, including the Bendigo Spirit, Melbourne Maverick and Otago Nuggets.
