Nike Launches Innovative Online Community

Nike has announced the release their new online community for athletes named Swoosh.

Currently in beta, with registrations opening this month, the web-3 platform will allow members to create and earn virtual Nike products and participate in games and competitions.

Nike will spend the rest of the year promoting and popularising the platform before its 2023 digital collection debut.

One of Swoosh’s main selling points is the digital safety of the platform, enhanced by its independent domain, .swoosh and positive interactions cultivated by members.

As well as being a community platform, Nike will use Swoosh as a marketplace and the base for future web-3 projects.

Commenting on the launch of Swoosh, Nike virtual studios general manager, Ron Faris, said: “We are shaping a marketplace of the future with an accessible platform for the web3-curious.”

“In this new space, the .SWOOSH community and Nike can create, share, and benefit together,” he added.

Nike will be hoping to use Swoosh to build on their recent revenue increase of 5%.
