NFL Expands Global Reach: Inaugural Game Set for São Paulo, Brazil in 2024

The NFL is set to make a landmark entry into South America in 2024.

On September 6th, the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Green Bay Packers at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo. This Week 1 matchup marks the return of Friday night football to the NFL schedule after a hiatus of over fifty years. Arena Corinthians, boasting a capacity of 49,205 patrons, is the fourteenth-largest stadium in Brazil.

This strategic move capitalises on Brazil’s significant fan base, the league’s second largest international alongside Mexico, and solidifies the NFL’s commitment to international expansion.

São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes celebrated the game’s potential to boost the city’s global visibility and contribute to local job creation and economic growth.

The 2024 season will feature five international NFL games in total, with three matches scheduled in London and one in Germany.

Ticketing information will be released in late spring, when the full NFL schedule is confirmed.
