New Zealand Breakers Unveils New Identity Rebranding

The New Zealand Breakers have unveiled a new brand identity inspired by the moana, marking a commercial and cultural chapter for the organisation ahead of the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.

Propelled by new off-court leadership, a restructured coaching group, and a dynamic roster, the club is leveraging its refreshed visual assets to forge a deeper connection with fans and establish long-term brand equity across Aotearoa and the broader trans-Tasman basketball landscape.

Central to the rebrand is a realignment focused on sustainable growth and community resonance.

Emphasising the broader cultural and national significance of the club’s heritage during the unveiling, New Zealand Breakers owner, Marc Mitchell, said: “The Breakers have always stood for more than basketball.”

“They represent a nation, possibility and a connection that runs deep with our fans and community.

“We carry that history with us, but our focus is firmly on what comes next: competing with intent, creating moments people want to be part of, and building a future our supporters can believe in,” Mitchell said.

Grounded in the powerful, dynamic energy of the moana, the new brand architecture incorporates a distinct colour palette featuring black sand and cloud white to represent ambition and possibility, complemented by blue as a seasonal expression of the ocean.

The updated wordmark and B icons reflect a modern design language engineered to enhance merchandise performance and digital engagement.

Underscoring that the visual overhaul serves as a catalyst for operational execution, Breakers CEO, Troy Georgiu, said: “Today is more than a new look for us, it is the visible expression of a club moving forward with real belief in what we can become.”

“Our work now is to turn that belief into action, through the team, the experience we create for supporters and the standards we set every day,” Georgiu added.

The new identity will roll out across official team wear, digital channels, game-day activations, and community programs throughout the 2026-27 NBL season, positioning the franchise for heightened commercial visibility and fan engagement.
