A new partnership between Water Polo Australia (WPA) and News Corp Australia will see over 200 water polo games broadcast live between January and May 2022.
With a disruption to the 2021 season due to COVID-19, the 2022 season is set to return to pre-pandemic fixtures.
WPA CEO, Richard McInnes, said: “A partnership with News Corp Australia will not only ensure our water polo fans can watch more water polo through live matches and replays, but it allows our sport to connect to new audiences through their extensive reach.”
The 2022 seasons will kick off on January 10 with the Summer Slam in Queensland.
“From our grassroots club competitions through to our premier Australian Water Polo League, we will be able to showcase the best our sport has to offer and allow more people to learn about water polo but also about our players,” McInnes said.
News Corp Australia’s managing director, Michael Wilkins, said the company is looking forward to showcasing the water polo skills Australia has to offer.
“We are looking forward to showcasing the best of Australian water polo, from the young guns to the national league heroes,” Wilkins said.
“We are excited to provide a platform for this continued growth among our huge community of audiences through our live streams and editorial content,” he said.
