Netball WA Announces Gold Industry Group As New Naming Rights Partner

The Gold Industry Group has followed up on its recent $5 million partnership with Netball WA becoming the new Naming Rights Partner of the West Australian Netball League.

The competition will be rebranded as the Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League for the next three years.

The partnership sees the Gold Industry Group become the first Principal Partner of Netball WA, an Elite Partner of West Coast Fever and the first Premier Partner of Shooting Stars.

Netball WA Chief Executive Officer, Simon Taylor, was delighted to have the Gold Industry Group join the State’s pre-eminent netball competition.

“WANL has firmly cemented itself as an integral step of the Netball WA Athlete Pathway, so we are excited to boast the Gold Industry Group as the Naming Rights Partner of this competition,” Taylor said.

“This is a significant year for WANL, so to have the Gold Industry Group on board is something we’re very proud of.”

The partnership also further cements the Gold Industry Group as a leader in gender diversity both in the resources industry and the broader WA community, enabling it to work with Netball WA to create a clear pathway for women to gain employment in the gold industry, pursue higher education opportunities and become leaders and role models in the sector.

Now in its 31st year, WANL will this year see seven new clubs face off for premiership glory across three divisions – Open, 20U and Men’s.

Gold Industry Group Vice Chairperson, Kelly Carter, said the partnership would help extend their connection with netball while growing the sport across the State.

“We are proud our support will help to ensure the sustainability of the League, as it embarks on an exciting new chapter, as well as and will enabling the growth and development of the competition at all levels,” Carter said.

“We are delighted the funding will contribute to an improvement in venue experience for fans, a better broadcast experience, and the broader marketing and promotion of the competition.”

Games will again be broadcast through Netball WA’s Facebook page, thanks to a partnership with SportsEdge, while matches will also be played at the State Netball Centre, Curtin Stadium, HBF Arena, Eaton Recreation Centre and Mundaring Arena.

The regular season will run from May 31, with the Grand Final to be held on September 20 at the State Netball Centre.
