NBL Shatters All-Time Attendance Record in New “Golden Era”

The Hungry Jack’s NBL has officially entered what CEO David Stevenson describes as a “new golden era,” smashing its all-time attendance record for the second consecutive year.

With more than 1,135,166 fans attending games during the NBL26 season, the league has overlapped the previous benchmark of 1,135,135 set just last year.

This milestone marks the third straight season the league has surpassed the one-million-fan mark, fueled by a surge in national interest and 58 sell-outs across the regular season.

Commenting on the milestone, NBL Group CEO, David Stevenson, said: “Our fans are the driving force behind everything we do.”

“The level of talent, effort and heroics the players bring to every game is extraordinary and is a huge reason why fans keep coming back week after week,” Stevenson said.

A Season of Extraordinary Engagement

The momentum for NBL26 was built on a series of high-profile pre-season and international events, including the sold-out NBL Blitz in Canberra and the NBAxNBL Melbourne Series, which drew over 60,000 fans. While those figures were not included in the official tally, they set the stage for a record-breaking home-and-away campaign.

Attendance Highlights:

  • Adelaide 36ers: Reached a stunning 38 consecutive sell-outs at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
  • Tasmania JackJumpers: Maintained their perfect streak, selling out every home game at MyState Bank Arena since joining the league in 2021.
  • Sydney Kings & Melbourne United: Collectively drew over 300,000 fans to their respective home markets.

NBL26 Finals: Do-or-Die Double-Header

The record-breaking season reaches a fever pitch this Saturday as the Playoffs continue with a high-stakes double-header.

Both the Sydney Kings and Adelaide 36ers currently hold 1-0 leads in their respective best-of-three series, leaving their opponents fighting to force a Game 3.

Saturday, March 14 Fixtures (Live on ESPN):

Matchup Venue Time (AEDT) Series Status
S.E. Melbourne Phoenix v Adelaide 36ers John Cain Arena 5:30 pm Adelaide leads 1-0
Perth Wildcats v Sydney Kings RAC Arena 8:00 pm Sydney leads 1-0
