LEGO F1 Cars to Return for British Grand Prix

Formula 1 and the LEGO Group have officially confirmed that a highly anticipated LEGO-themed Drivers’ Parade will headline the pre-race festivities at this weekend’s Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix 2026.

Building on the massive success of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix activation, this year’s event promises a significantly expanded spectacle with all 22 drivers piloting their own bespoke, fully drivable LEGO minicars around the historic Silverstone Circuit.

The partnership, which first saw LEGO-inspired big-builds capture global attention last season, has taken a massive leap forward for 2026.

Moving away from the shared two-seater vehicles of the past, this new fleet allows every driver to take the wheel of an individual, single-seater machine. Each minicar is meticulously designed to reflect the 2026 team liveries, complete with authentic team emblems, colourways, and individual driver numbers.

Constructed at the LEGO Group’s Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, each of the 22 vehicles required over 28,000 LEGO bricks to assemble. A dedicated team of 20 designers, engineers, and building specialists invested more than 6,400 combined hours to bring the fleet to life. The final products weigh approximately 280 kilograms each, with 65 kilograms comprised entirely of LEGO elements, and are equipped with standard go-kart wheels capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 km/h.

Commenting on the partnersihp, chief commercial officer at Formula 1, Emily Prazer, said:“Last year’s F1 Drivers’ Parade in Miami with the LEGO big build cars was one of the most memorable and talked-about moments of the season, capturing the imagination of fans around the world and showing a different side of the sport.”

“This year, we’re building on that moment to create an incredible spectacle for fans attending the British Grand Prix and those watching globally,” Prazer said.

Echoing this sentiment, chief product and marketing officer of the LEGO Group, Julia Goldin, noted the direct response to fan demand.

“We always listen to our fans, and it was clear from the 2025 Miami Grand Prix Drivers Parade that both fans and drivers wanted more.”

“We’re back with a 2.0 version in a brand-new format, bringing even more fun and excitement to the parade. We can’t wait to see what the drivers do when they get these minicars on track,” Goldin said.

The parade is scheduled to take place this Sunday, 5 July, approximately 90 minutes before the commencement of the Grand Prix, offering a playful, high-energy prelude to the main event at Silverstone.
