Kia make move to GWS GIANTS in new car deal
The AFL’s Greater Western Sydney GIANTS has partnered with Kia Motors Australia after the automotive behemoth ended their contract with the Essendon Bombers.
Under the new three-year agreement, Kia will become the Official Vehicle Partner of the GIANTS which will also see the popular car manufacturer support both the AFL and AFLW programs.
The Kia logo will appear on the shorts for all AFL matches and on the sleeve of the AFLW media polo.
GIANTS Chief Executive, David Matthews, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kia Motors Australia to the GIANTS family.”
“The GIANTS and Kia both share similar values and a strong focus on families, especially in the Western Sydney region.
“Kia has expressed a desire to help the GIANTS continue to grow and to have their support across both our AFL and AFLW programs ideally complements our existing partnerships.
“To add one of the world’s biggest and most respected car manufacturers to our suite of corporate partners demonstrates the strong reputation the GIANTS have built in a short space of time.”
Kia Motors Australia’s Chief Operating Officer, Damien Meredith said: “To be partnering with the GIANTS is an exciting and invigorating opportunity for Kia Motors Australia.
“To a degree, we are both newcomers in our respective fields and both are challenger entities which have already proven not to be out of place in the big game.
“We look forward to a successful ongoing relationship.”
GIANTS members will benefit from the partnership with a range of vehicle specials to be offered across the GIANTS membership program.
The GIANTS are the latest addition to Kia’s sporting family with the Australian Open Tennis, Australian Turf Club and the Canterbury Bulldogs already in partnership with the South Korean company
