Italian Serie A football club Juventus have signed a deal with Chinese sports media company Wanbo Sports, making them the official regional partner of the champion team.

Wanbo, which has become a market leader in China and its surrounding regions, will contribute to the growth of Juve’s fan base throughout Asia, as a part of this new deal.

Giorgio Ricci, the club’s co-chief revenue officer, global partnership and corporate revenues, said: “We are pleased to announce this partnership with Wanbo Sports, a leading brand in the Asian market.

In speaking of the deal, Ricci said: “This agreement confirms the club’s desire to establish itself in a market like China’s and will allow us to be even closer to our supporters in Asia.”

This arrangement comes a week after the Serie A champions announced a multi-year global partnership with blockchain-based fan engagement platform Socios.com, where they will be releasing their own official fan token to supporters.

The Club’s partnership with the Chinese media company and Socios.com forms part of Juve’s global fan engagement strategy and comes in a bid to expand their global audience, particularly outside of Europe.

The 34-time Serie A champions have won all seven of their games thus far and are already six points ahead on the ladder.
