Grassroots Clubs Across Western Australia Receive Funding Boost
23 grassroots sporting clubs from across Western Australia will share in more than $634,000 in the latest round of the Western Australia Government’s Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF).
The State Government offers CSRFF grants to ensure community level sports clubs across metropolitan and regional areas have access to quality infrastructure and facilities.
The aim is to increase participation in sport and recreation, with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of sustainable, good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities.
“Grassroots sport is a bedrock of communities in the country and a driver of healthier, more connected lives in the city,” Sport and Recreation Minister, Mick Murray said.
“This round of funding supports a diverse range of projects, from disability access to improved playing fields, change rooms and other facilities.”
“Sport and recreation can help anyone improve their physical and mental health, and the State Government is proud to support important local grassroots clubs to grow participation.”

Phoenix Cricket Club (City of Cockburn) – second cricket pitch at Beeliar Oval, $6,145

Nedlands Tennis Club (City of Nedlands) – redevelopment project, $65,604

There is $12 million available for allocation in the 2018/19 funding round and $500,000 of the $12 million available is allocated to projects that provide sport and recreation infrastructure to remote Aboriginal communities and regional communities with a significant Aboriginal population.
